Here is my layout for the first challenge! These are pictures of my street. We live on the edge of a very large city in suburbia. I love the rows and rows of snowy roof tops. I used pretty basic supplies, some new, some old. I gave everything a dusting with gesso to make it look frosty. For more pics check out my blog: christyriopel.blogspot.ca/2014/02/supreme-scrapbooking-tournament.html

Here's my entry. Living in a suburban community, there isn't too many interesting things within that radius. What one would expect, street signs and sidewalks. But, it's the snow covered ground that I like the most. I was going for a stark, monotone look. Like you would expect to see on a cloudy winter day. Just the contrast between dark tones, and the glittery white of the bright snow. My title: Gloomy Winter Days Journaling reads: Gloomy winter days are my favorite time of the year. The crunch of your feet when they hit the snow. The cold brisk chill that bites at your cheeks. The dim light masking everything in a gray haze. But most importantly, it's the quiet. Maybe the sound of the wind, or the creek of the branches weighed down by the snow. but, it's quiet. My thought are my own and I can enjoy my surroundings with out invasion of other noises. Simple peace. Supplies used: Bazzill basic white for backround Sizzix Snowflake die cuts Various embossing powders by Stampabilities. Here is my layout entry ... For this layout I used: Black Cardstock, Patterned Paper all from "Strong" kit by Authentique, Cherish BINGO card from Simple Stories "Documented", "100 Steps" TLC Rub-ons, 3 black dots ... from Storytellers Timeless Letters, Dew Drop Momento Ink - Northern Pine, Dollarama Bling The journalling reads: After having brain surgery to remove a cancerous brain tumour in January 2000, my brother moved in with us. He lived with us for about 10 years and we loved having him here! Our son especially! In January 2010, he was 10 years cancer-free! He decided it was time to move on. A house went up for sale four houses away and in October 2010, he moved in! At first our son was devastated, but soon loved that his Uncle was right down the street! I love that he lives so close! scrapper-mycrazylife.blogspot.ca/

Here's my layout of our backyard. More photos found at my blog: originalinspirations.blogspot.ca/
I choose to scrapbook "within 1,000 steps" of my home ... my backyard ... where so memories have fluttered through the past 33 years that we have lived here. Most particularly, I choose to scrapbook about the 16 years that our dear friend, our Norwegian Elkhound named Bishop and how the memories we shared are endearing ... and every morning ... or any other time of day for that matter... that I look out at our backyard ... all those memories flood back ... and how Bishop was an integral part of our family and made our house a HOME.

Hello, I'm so happy to participate, it's a big new challenge for me. For my layout, i use first gesso and i make a collage for adding texture. After that i use different kind of paint: neocolor, ink pad, acrylic, china ink. When i make my background by myself, after I don't use a lot of embellishments. I hope that you have some pleasure to see my work. In my journaling, I speak about some friends who visit us during summer and we visit my city, Geneva with us. For more pictures you can see here.

Here is my first entry for week 1... I chose to do my page about my "Secret Garden", the bench I built and the fun it is to share my secret with those I love most! Here is my page... I have tried to make it bigger but just can't seem to get it right... if you click on the photo though, it will make it bigger. I hope you do that as there is a LOT of smaller detail that you will miss otherwise. The Secret Garden by Frances Hodson Burnett is one of my favorite stories from childhood and we have such a small house and a long winter that when it is summer, we love to make the most out of our backyard garden so the two seemed to go together quite naturally... and when Graphic 45 came out with their "Secret Garden" line, I knew I had to use it a lot! The other products I used included Crafters' Workshop stencil, Liquitex Modeling Paste, Colorbox Chalk Ink, Basic Gray Letters, Xyron Sticker Maker, Slice cutting machine, Ranger Glossy Accents, unknown carstock, a paint swatch from Home Depot and miscellaneous, unknown embellishments, flowers, ribbon and beads I liberated from my sister's stash. To see more details, check out my blog at corlann.blogspot.com

1000 Steps From Home. What a beautiful challenge to show everyone where we live and why we love it! I live in a very, VERY small town and love the simplicity of that life. I used a mish mash of old and new product, some Stampendous, BoBunny, Tim Holtz and some vintage metal stuff that I pick up in my travels. I used an old, cut up school map as my background. Check out my blog for details! www.scrapdivalicious.blogspot.com.

Lovely to see where everyone lives! I am lucky to live just outside the New Orleans, Louisiana area. In my neighborhood, I have a Plantation Home which is a short walk away! A quarter mile down from there is another! So, I did one about the one in my neighborhood! You can see more at my blog: Living Life!

Here's my entry! These are photos of my house and the giant tree in our front yard that attracts all the local kids. I used 4 photos depicting how our house/street/neighbourhood looks in each season and matched them to 4 different patterned papers. The tree was cut free hand and the Kraft corrugated paper darkened with brown ink. I also added some white ink on the far left for a snowy fee - to match the winter photo. You can see more photos and info on how I made it on my blog. Thanks!
